Two Time All American pitcher and Three Time Elite Pitcher of the Year at Moravian University, Meagan Hennessy (Freehold, NJ/ Freehold HS), who was named the Commonwealth Co-Pitcher of the Year and Pitcher of the Year the last three seasons, was 25-7 in the circle this season with a 0.66 ERA, 16 shutouts, five saves, two no-hitters, 267 strikeouts and just 115 hits, 53 walks and 30 runs (22 earned) in 234 2/3 innings of action. Hennessy Meagan Hennessy who already owns every Moravian pitching record, has had an enormous impact on the NCAA Division III record books. Hennessy, who also earned a spot on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III East Region First Team for the fourth straight season, finished her career with a 92-24 record and as one of the top pitchers in NCAA Division III history.

Pitcher of the Year, All Conf 1^st Team, NFCA Reg. 1^st Team, NCAA All Reg. Tourn. 1^st Team)}. Meagan was a 2002 graduate of Freehold Twp HS where she had a tremendous career. Meagan started pitching at Elite Fastpitch in 1994 at the age of 9. To really give hope to all our pitchers, Meagan is listed at 5’-2” in the Moravian University Media Guide, in 2002 I don’t believe she was that tall. But that really doesn’t matter to me because Meagan pitches with the guts, determination & HEART of a 6’-2” pitcher. Meagan’s strength for the last six years has been her dominating riseball, an excellent change-up and curveball.

Hennessy, who was also on the Regional All-Tournament Team for the fourth straight year. The following is Hennessy’s All Time NCAA records held. She is ranked in the top 15, in shutouts with 53 which is second all-time, fourth all time in complete games with 105, fifth all time in strikeouts with 876, sixth all time in wins with 92, sixth all time in innings pitched with 819 2/3, tenth all time in games started with 114, tied for tenth all time in games with 129 and 14th all time in ERA at 0.91. Hennessy, who was the Commonwealth Conference Pitcher of the Week six times this season and was the Commonwealth Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player for the second straight year, had one hit at the plate this spring and has scored 12 runs. Hennessy, earned a spot on the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation Spring Academic Honor Roll and was on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team. Meg “may” have ended her pitching career last year (2007) as a pitcher for the Philadelphia Force, Women’s Professional League. She currently is a Private Pitching Coach. Meagan is one of the many great success stories at Elite. History is being made at Elite Fastpitch and Meagan is now a big part of it.

General Information- Our 2008/2009 school year will be organized into 4 six week pitching sessions and one shortened spring session. The first session will start in early September, the second session will start in mid October, the third will start in early December 2008 and the fourth will start in mid January 2009. Our spring session will start directly after that. Schedules for those sessions will be maintained on this site above. Because of snow days and school function we may have schedule changes. On this page you should be able to find all pitcher information to include, scheduling for the year, student achievement information, costs, directions and general pitching info.

Levels of Instruction- I organize our instruction into three levels. Basic level (W1) is purely "basic mechanics" classes that progress quickly will learn the change-up. Fastball mechanics are the objective. Our W2 focuses on fastball, change up and dropball. Transitioning to W3 is the objective. W3 is for our advanced students. Pitchers will learn and perfect fastball mechanics, several types of change ups, drop, several curves, screwball and riseball. At the W3 level we may have levels within this level. The later classes are our most advanced pitchers and the classes we invite college coaches into.

Standards- This is my standard to move students. There are 4 points of mechanics that are nonnegotiable. They must be able to demonstrate 1) Wrist Snap 2) A clean, straight, aligned Arm Circle 3) Hip Rotation that is synchronized with arm circle and stride / 4) Stride that supports the above and two non-mechanical standards 5) low 40 mph range for speed and 6) be relatively consistent in the strike zone. W1 is geared to producing solid basic mechanics and I don't like moving them to soon. However, I don't like boring them by over doing it.

The format for W2 is 30 mins of Fastball (Mechanical drills, speed drills & Location drills), 8 to 10 mins of Change-up (4 different change ups) and the remaining time is "Dropball." I move them from W2 to W3 when they demonstrate a good drop and get their Fastball over 50 mph.

Our format in W3 is Fastball (mechanical drills, location drills & speed drills) for 20 to 25 mins. Change up (hand shake, knuckle, circle (OK) & back hand, rotating one per week) for 5 - 8 mins. Each even numbered day (2,4,6 & 8) we teach curveball and screwball for 15 mins each. Each odd numbered day (1,3,5 & 7) we teach drop & riseball for about 15 mins each. If there is more than one W3 at that location we divide the students by speed. The higher the speed, the later the class. Speeds are recorded every even numbered day.
